We have been so busy in the shop this summer that I am only just getting the chance to write about our buying trip to Germany which was at the end of July.
Keely and I were joined by Sara this trip who was really excited as it was her first trip to Dusseldorf buying. We arrived Friday afternoon and headed straight to the gallery to see Moyuru’s collection.
We were happy as spring 2015 had been an amazing season for us and there were some lovely pieces planned for 2016. The colour pallet is grey, black and white but with a hint of lime and pale blue. The fabrics are lots of light cotton jerseys and linen mixes with the usual hand painted prints as well as woven stripes and spots.
As the Gallery is on the bank of the famous Rhine we strolled along the river in the sun for an early evening drink. We found a great little (beach) bar where we had couple of cocktails before returning back to the hotel for our evening meal and an early night.
First thing the next morning we set off across the city to the Rundholz showroom. There was a very interesting wood structure displayed in the window, but this didn’t give us any ideas about what could be in store, as we ran down the stairs to view the Black label collection it was a splendid sea of colour.
Lots of pink which include, light lychee, mid melon and deep raspberry. Also on the fruit theme there was blueberry and Strawberry plus black, white and grey. The prints are very graphic and include numbers, words and geometric shapes. There really was a huge collection which made it even harder to choose which pieces to buy but here are a few of my favourite styles….
We spent an exhausting day in the Rundholz showroom and by 7pm we decided to call it a day and come back in the morning to place our order for the dip and main collection. The Rundholz ladies had been so patient with us and offered us a glass of bubbly to relax after the long day. There is a fabulous restaurant down the road called Beluga where we have been a few times now and we had a delicious meal.
Bright and early on the Sunday we packed up and checked out of the hotel and returned to Rundholz to place the Main collection and Dip order. The Main collection colours are navy, grey, white and black, and this collection also had geometric block prints, beautiful sheer jackets and trousers with a zip down one leg, all amazing. The Dip collection is subtle in colour white, black and shades of grey, mixed with a hint of metallic paint print. The collection uses pockets as the main focus as well as raw edged waffle cottons.
When we got back to the airport we were all so happy as we had seen such amazing collections and were really pleased it had been such a successful trip.
