When we arrived at the Rundholz showroom we receive such a lovely warm welcome from all the Rundholz ladies, for us it’s like seeing family we haven’t seen for 6 months. As usual we practically run towards the large concrete staircase and down to the Black label collection, it is so exciting! we start with the order for the Black label collection as we know it always takes us most of of the day.
Jenny who helps us write our order, is wonderful, and whilst she organises our refreshments Keely and I start looking through the collection. We always joke we should put coloured rings on the items we don’t want as 9 out of 10 items have our coloured rings on. I think we need to remember this when we go in January.
We spend a few hours going through the collection and trying pieces on. We are always naming customers who we think we would like each piece as we need to keep our customers in the forefront of our mind whilst buying….and if Anne is not with us, we have to bear her in mind too!
Once we have picked our selection we go through the line drawing book and choose the colours and quantities of each item. For spring summer 2017 the colours are inspired from the sea, Atlantic blue, shark grey, sea blue, pearl, black and white, the shades compliment each other really well. We also have denim, which was popular last summer and a shell and black pinstripe. The prints are fantastic plants and flowers, with bees, dragon flies and other bugs.
The collection has many different designs, cotton jerseys with cutouts and prints, as well as linen dresses and cotton mesh t.shirts and a wonderful jacket. There is also our favourite fabric the cotton, linen, polymide and elastane mix, which is in white, shell and shell stripe. You will pleased to know we have our exclusive ‘best ever’ trousers in this new colourway, as well as a jacket, dress, and skirt.
Once we had finished the black label order we went back upstairs to check out the Rundholz Dip collection. Wow….I love prints and the Dip collection didn’t disappoint, the inspiration is very topical at the moment, being space travel, Rundholz has produced NASA and Luna module inspired prints. The colours are milk, desert, moon and black, the colours and prints are the same in the mens Dip collection too. The collection has a very graphic monotone feel to it, and as usual with the dip collection prints are all hand printed by the Rundholz team.
We had time to have a quick look at the Rundholz main collection, but not to place our order, so we tried a few things on and decided to go back the following day.
We waited with a glass of fizz for the Rundholz girls to finish work for the day then set off to our favourite restaurant [be.lu.ga] We had a lovely meal, the food was exceptional and the girls were great company.
We had a little lie in bed on the Sunday morning as we knew we only had to order the Rundholz main collection. We got packed up and checked out of the hotel, then got a taxi back to the Rundholz showroom. The Main collection has vibrant prints of colourful brand logos, like Silver shred lemon marmalade. The base colours of the collection are the same as the dip, Moon, desert, milk, white and black with bursts of colour – bright green, tomato red, yellow and laguna blue.
Once we finished the order we strolled down the road to look for somewhere to have a late lunch, we found a fantastic Latin American / Cuban inspired restaurant called Palito Latino. I had a fantastic chicken burrito Habano, and Keely had a very large chicken salad.
After the delicious food we had a long walk along the promenade besides the Rhine (river) to walk off our food before returning to the airport.
